Welcome To Ulreich University!
Do You Have Any Questions?
Hello, and welcome to Ulreich University! Hopefully you being here means that you at least know a little bit about how this roleplay works, but in the event that is NOT the case, there are ample services available in the website/server for you so you can learn and get started promptly. Before we get to the basics I want to start with a fair warning; this roleplay requires a bit of commitment, in the sense that it takes some work to get your character created. You don’t have to post once a day, or even once a week; you’re free to come and go as you choose, as long as you’re not roleplay locking anyone in a combat situation. That being said, characters here start with very little power and grow naturally based on their own training. We’ll get to how that works later, but understand that you cannot start with whatever you want. You’re going to be pretty weak early on, and you’ll have to put work in to get stronger. If that sort of thing isn’t for you, I totally understand, but it’s probably best you head on out now if that’s the case. I implore you to give it a shot though, it can be extremely rewarding! With that out of the way, let’s go over the most common questions for newcomers.
"What Is Ulreich University?"
Ulreich is an "eat and grow" styled role play based in a magic school; the idea was based off of other roleplays of the same variety that came before it, such as Palmax, and Vetiver. Your character starts out as a mage, who -- upon receiving an invitation to join Ulreich -- travels to the magical world it resides in to practice their skills and grow stronger. Ulreich originally started on chatango a few years prior to its transition to Discord. With chatango slowly dying due to removal of flash support, the staff thought it best to move things into our previously O.O.C only Discord server. |
"What Is An 'Eat & Grow' Role Play?"
An "eat and grow" styled role play means that you start with a new character that has little to no magical experience or power. Think of it like a new campaign of Dungeons & Dragons, or starting out in a new rpg. Your character begins as a "paige", which is the lowest of all magic ranks (see "earning points"), and must complete activities such as training and studying to earn points (see "ranks and spending points"). These points can be used to purchase spells that you may create yourself, or to buy rank ups, which increase your capability to create magic. |
"How Do I Join This Role Play?"
Well, if this is your first time participating in a magic school role play, you have some reading ahead of you! Make sure you read ALL the channels under the "Rules & Information" tab; once you've finished that, go take a look at the channels under "Lore". This will show you the different branches of magic your character can choose, as well as how they work. Once you've read everything, you may create your application; #character-creation-guide (in the server discord) will walk you through this process, and requires you to submit a form via the weebly website. If the weebly does not seem to work for you, or if you cannot access it due to your computer/mobile device, simply pm any of the staff members and we’ll work out another way for you to register. Likewise, if you have any further questions, feel free to hop into the O.O.C chat (#shitposting) or DM a staff member directly. |
Still Have Questions?
If you're still wondering about things, there are a number of options available to you. The first (and most appreciated) would be to MAKE SURE YOU'VE READ ALL THE SITE INFORMATION. Most of the questions the Ulreich staff are asked have simple answers that can be found by reading the provided resources. This brings us to option two: CHECK THE F.A.Q. It was created specifically for people that find the site intimidating or hard to comb through; if you ask a staff member a question that can easily be found on the F.A.Q, you're probably going to get chided. However, the final option is to contact one of us directly. Check the staff & contact info page to get our contact information, but if all else fails just send the owner a message directly. He'll try to get back to you when he can.
